On a question that was asked many months ago
by The Spun Off Artist
In the comments for Page 29, reader T asked:
Are Neive, Finbar and Gavin in a loving threesome relationship or are they just good friends who like casual sex?

and my answer was
I'm going to get to that eventually but it's somewhere inbetween. They would argue it's the same thing, anyway.

Mostly I think it would have been Neive arguing that it's the same thing. However, I have had this question on my mind again, since I read this article in The Atlantic: When Taking Multiple Husbands Makes Sense. I'm now leaning more definitely to their relationship being a committed polyandrous one, because the society these faeries have is pretty much exactly the kind that this article refers to: one in which (some of) the men are exposed to a lot of danger from hunting and warfare. Also, considering how different Neive looks from Aleas, it should be quite clear that their mother, too, had two different men in her life at roughly the same time. I think it would be fun to explore that a little more.
Taking more time off

Sorry all, it's not happening this week either. In a repeat of last weekend, a busy Saturday was followed by me feeling like crap on Sunday with a splitting headache. To be honest, also, I have too much on my plate and the only reason I got so many episodes of Spun Off done this summer was because my wife and I spent most of our weekends hiding from the world at a campsite with very little else to do. Now that winter is coming, that's not working and it will be a while before it does.

I've been rethinking the way I approach my comics, and it looks like the thing to do is to build a largeish buffer again before I start publishing new updates again. So rather than trying to set a specific date for when the next episode of Spun Off will show up, I urge everyone who likes the comic to Subscribe to Spun Off (ComicFury membership required) or use the RSS feed. As mentioned before, you may also find the Belfry entry for Spun Off useful.

Thanks all for reading the comic in 2012! And see you some time next year!
More delays

I was sick today, so another window of opportunity for me to draw a page opened and closed without anything happening. I'll try to get it done next week.

Meanwhile, I've updated the Cast and Links pages with an entry for Wakatonka (ityphallic aspect not showing) in the cast page and an entry for my 24-hour comic attempt in the links page. I'm always on the lookout for comics to put in that links page, especially comics with an all-nude cast.
Delays

OK, it looks like this week I will have to bite the bullet and miss an update. The page on my desk is only halfway to being scanner-ready and my weekeend is nearly over. As I rarely get to work on comics during the working week, the new page will have to wait until next week. Can't be helped!
24-hour comic!
by The Spun Off Artist
I took part in 24-hour comics day on Saturday, October 20. As more or less expected, I failed to reach the goal of writing and drawing 24 pages in 24 hours, and I failed pretty badly at that, finishing up with only 11 pages drawn. However, I do think the material I came up with was worthwhile. I had had an idea in my head for a while, and this 24-hour comics served as a pilot for it. Set in the same world as Rogues of Clwyd-Rhan and Spun Off, it is nonetheless very different in tone from both of them.

The pages are collected on my latest Comicfury website, Reinder's 24-hour comic for 2012, so named because I went into the event without a fixed plan of what I was going to do. I ended up simply piloting an existing idea, but I could have gone a number of other ways. Unlike with most of my comics, the home page has the first comic page on it instead of the last, so you can read the comic in order from there.

I need to catch up on a lot of sleep. I will try to have a new Spun Off comic ready by Tuesday morning.
